What we collect
Nothing that identifies you, unless you sign up for the morning recap, send the crew a question, or comment on a show (all below). There are no accounts, advertising trackers or analytics cookies on this site. The only cookies are the optional team preference and uncensored-version setting below.
The morning recap email
If you sign up, we store your email address, the teams you picked, your time zone (so the recap arrives in your morning) and when you confirmed. We use them only to send the recap. We never sell or share them, except with our email delivery service (Resend), which sends the emails for us. Every recap has a one-click unsubscribe link; unsubscribing deletes your address. Sign-ups never confirmed are deleted after 7 days. We don't track whether you open or click the emails.
Questions for the crew
If you send a question with "Ask the crew", we store the question, the name or handle you give (optional), which host it's for, and when you sent it. Nothing else: no email address or account. By ticking the box you agree the crew may read your question and name on air in a show. We pick which questions air and may skip any. A question we pick is sent, with your name, to our AI writing service (Anthropic) to write the show, and once read on air it stays in that show, including the video and the podcast feed. We delete questions that aren’t used within 30 days.
Comments, votes and suggestions
If you comment on a show, or send the crew a private suggestion, we store what you wrote, the name you give (optional) and when you sent it. No email address or account. To stop spam and count each report of a comment once, we also store a scrambled code made from your IP address with a secret key; it can't be turned back into your address, and we never store the address itself. Comments are public on the show's page; suggestions are seen only by the crew. Thumbs up and down, and taps on the 😂 button on the player, are kept only as totals per show (the 😂 taps per moment of the show), with nothing about who tapped; your browser remembers your thumb, on your device only, so you can change or clear it. To have a comment or suggestion removed, email awjones76@gmail.com with the show and what it said.
Your team preference
If you tap "Make this my team" on a team's page, we store that team in a small cookie in your browser so the site can show your team first. It holds only the team's three-letter code, is used for nothing else, and is never shared. Tap "My team" again, or clear your browser data, to remove it.
The uncensored version
Where it's offered, switching on the uncensored version (18+) in the site header stores a small cookie in your browser that holds only "on", so the site plays the uncensored shows. It's used for nothing else and never shared. Switch back to bleeped, or clear your browser data, to remove it.
Counting visits
To see which teams people watch, we count page views and video plays as daily totals per team and show. That's all we keep: no cookies, no identifiers, and no IP addresses in the counts. To count each visitor once a day, the server briefly holds a scrambled code made from your IP address, in memory only; it's never saved and is gone when the site restarts. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we don't count you at all.
Official highlight videos
Post-game pages can show the NHL's own highlight video from YouTube. It uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com), which doesn't set cookies until you press play; once you do, YouTube's own privacy policy applies. Highlight links open NHL.com.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and reliability. We do not use them to build profiles or sell them.
Children
The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
